  • Unable to import Motion or LiveType into FCP 5

I have just upgraded to the FCP 5 Studio.
I am having problems trying to import LiveType and Motion files into FCP 5.
Upon import into FCP 5 those files appear as blank clips.
Another strange thing is that those Livetype or Motion clips have thumbnails in the browser that
are bogus, they just show a thumbnail from some other clip.
    Rendering them doesn’t help.

Older Livetype clips I had previously used under FCP 4.5 no longer work.

I can inport .movs from Livetyoe and Motion into FCP 5 and that will work but I shouldn’t have too.
I can import JPEGS into FCP 5 fine.

I have re-installed the entire FCP Studio package.
    I’ve trashed the preferences.

    I can’t figure out why.

    Is anyone else experiencing this?
Does anyone have suggestions as to why this doesn’t work?

What OS are you on? have you tried Rendering the black clips? Have you repaired permissions?

    I’m running X 10.4.1
I have rendered the black clips and they show up as nothing.
I’ll try repairing permissions. But that seams odd.

Any luck with this yet. i thought I had something similar but it went away and seemed just not to be updating on my Video Out-my monitor, was there though. I’ve got a lot of Motion work to do in FCP 5 so would love to hear if this is working and how? What about those thumbnails, those still funky too?
