Unable to import h.264 footage into AE CS3
Hey everybody,
I’m having trouble importing h.264 footage into AfterEffects. I get an error saying “After Effects: AEGP Plugin: Error occurred while creating project (5027 :: 12)”
I tried to update to 8.0.2 but am also having problems saying that it can’t find the program.
Really annoying stuff here, any solutions?

Wow, for real? That sucks considering I’m exporting these videos from Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 Via Adobe Media Encoder. So, what options do I have? AVI? Anyone have any luck with this stuff?

ideally, to avoid compression loss and maintain quality, uncompressed or lossless compression codecs would be the way to go. so uncompressed avi or lossless mov are good choices. image sequences like tif, tga and png are also good, but a bit unusual for shot video (no audio with image sequences).
if you need to conserve disk space, quicktime’s photojpeg at higher quality settings is pretty good.
as for your ae problem… since you are having an error trying to install the update to 8.0.2, you may either have installed ae in an unusual location or modified the install in some way (like moved or removed some of the files that were set up by the original installer).
there was an 8.0.1 update for mac, but i’m not even sure if you needed that on a mac before installing 8.0.2… were there any other updates available fro your platform?
