Unable to import DNG files

Hi Peter, thanks for responding but I am getting the same error msg.

The DNG files are a simple Time Lapse taken on a 5D MIII.

I guess this isn’t supported as of yet correct?

Here’s the official statement:

Premiere Pro CC 7.1 supports Uncompressed Cinema DNG from Blackmagic Cinema Cameras. Import and edit uncompressed Cinema DNG media (or ProRes or DNxHD media) from Blackmagic Cinema Cameras. Cinema DNG can be debayered on a supported GPU for extreme playback performance.

With that said you may still be able to import certain non Blackmagic CNDG files but they are not officially supported. Are focus for this release was Blackmagic Cinema DNG support and debaryed GPU accelerated.

We look forward to adding additional support for other CNDG file types in future releasees.

Hi Jamie,
try to import the DNG’s over Davinci Resolve (lite version free to download, but restricted to max. 1920×1080 footage). Load them in Resolve and export them as proxies in a format you prefer. Then import the proxies in Premiere Pro, do your edit and at the end export your edit as XML and go back to DaVinci Resolve. Do your Grading there and export it in the Final master format. Should work.

Jamie this is ridiculous. I have been a PP user since day one, and the only reason I have switched to
CC Premiere is because of it’s ability to import and edit DNG sequences. And it totally did!-until now
I had no issue to import any kind of DNG seqs. Looks like your latest upgrade is a downgrade. I’m very disappointed in Adobe. This thing actually f****d my workflow. Looks like i’m paying 25 pounds /mont for a software that just became totally useless. Great. Not feeling much for Adobe at the moment….

It’s Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2. And it just wouldn’t eat the DNG files. I just don’t get it. And I’m shooting RAW tomorrow. If there is no work around I’m just going to unsubscribe from my Adobe membership and do Avid or FCP. This is crazy! Especially cause it was working like a dream before. Unbelievable….

It was my bad. I thought that I’ve updated but it wasn’t the CC 2014, it was an earlier version.
I just updated to 2014 and it works again!

I think its a total confusion between DNG and CDNG ? DNG files are not Cinema DNG file. I have exactly the same problem. I have premiere CC 2014 and CS6. if i convert Raw video to DNG and later open with any premiere program it hangs or stops working. also sometimes it gives me the error that unable to load / unsupported format or damage file…..etc

On the other hand, If I convert Raw to CDNG it opens in premiere but with pink screen and cropped 3X.

I have problem in both DNG’s. neither of them seems to be working on my premiere.

Once Again I emphasize that I want to import DNG NOT CDNG in premiere. any update will be of great help.
