  • Unable to get access to project files

Sorry, this is probably a fundamental error in the way we have set up our Mac but please bear with me.
We have three editors set up as users on our FCP set-up. All have adminstrator rights
I am trying to pick up a project from Editor A who has saved his project file
on the system drive. The problem is I cannot access this file at all. When I try and open it
when I’m logged in, it just hangs FCP and gives the rotating colour wheel. It will however
open quite happily when Editor A is logged in. Where do we save project files that are
accessible to all 3 editors whilst maintaining our separate log-ins

    Regards

To share a document amoungst users who use the same computer, a User needs to copy it to the Public folder (in the home folder) or the Shared folder (in the Users folder on your hard disk). There’s a great explaination of this in the Mac Help… just type in Sharing in the search box…

    except…..

having used ‘Save as’ to save the project file in the shared folder
FCP now opens only 9% before going into beachball mode!
    corrupt project file perhaps??
