Unable to export an EDL
To anybody who can shed some light on this problem.
I have a project in Avid Express Pro (operating on Mac OSX) that I wish to import into Final Cut Pro. I’ve been attempting this by trying to export the EDL, however I keep on getting a message stating that the EDL manager is not installed. I have installed the version of EDL manger that comes on the avid CD and this won’t load up for some unknown reason.
In the readme file of the EDL manager, it says that it’s for windows OS and has no mention for mac. Could it be that there is a separate EDL manager program for Mac on the CD and I’m just being an idiot because I can’t find it? Or failing that, is there some other program out there that will be able to export an EDL from AVID?
Also, once I have exported that EDL successfully, I have a program named ‘sebsky tools’ will this be sufficient to convert the EDL into a file that FCP can recognise?

I’m not sure about getting a project into FCP. There have been a lot of great answers to that question over on the Avid forum.
When you put the installation CD/DVD in, does the EDL manager software show up as a .sit file, or a .exe file? That should tell you pretty clearly wether you have a Mac or PC file.
