Unable to “arrange” a set of cubes using “along spline” mode
Posted by Michael Banjoko on January 6, 2011 at 7:38 pmI’m using R10 Arch edition, but working through a tutorial based on R6. After selecting my duplicate copies of cubes, i choose the “arrange” function with “along spline” as mode. I however can’t seem to specify the name of the spline, hence nothing is happening.

January 7, 2011 at 6:00 amHello, I eventually sourced a solution here https://forums.cgsociety.org/archive/index.php/t-292744.html. However, the objects (now following the spline) aren’t arranged perfectly along the spline. It seems i have to tweak the axis of each object to align them properly. Whre am i still going wrong?

January 7, 2011 at 8:16 amHi,
I’ve looked further, and i suspect its the ‘tangential’ feature that i’m missing out. It is obvious in R6 but not in R10. Can you help? Link to tutorial page is here:

January 7, 2011 at 2:58 pmI don’t have r10 installed anymore, but if it’s like R12 you have to enable rotation and then specify the axis to be aligned.

January 21, 2011 at 1:29 amHello,
I have just attempted this “arrange” routine in front of a class of students this time using Cinema4D studio R12 and i was shocked to see it unable to properly align the objects again. And this in spite of several attempts using the same idea you suggested that worked in R10.
Furthermore, i opened the R10 file (that worked) in R12 studio and all the properly arranged (or duplucated) objects were suddenly out of alignment again.
Attached is a screen shot: 1526_screeenshot2.png.zip
Please help.
Michael
