    Hi,

I’ve got a complex timeline in Avid Media Composer and have Collapsed 2 tracks to simplify it, also to let me add an Anti-Matte to 2 minute segments.

I now need to work on the footage again and need to Un-Collapse it – is there a way to do this other than copying and pasting it out?

    Thanks in advance

Scrub that, I’ve worked it out.

If anyone’s interested you zoom in to the collapsed tracks, right click on the tracks you don’t want, zoom out and delete the effect.

    Heath Robinson but it works….

    hi there

if you step into the collapsed tracks on the timeline, you should be able to work on the effects there

Yes but there’s no audio when you do that…

I’ve just found out that if you double click on the tracks then it expands them and plays the audio – so you don’t use the Step in function…but you do Step in…

What hope does anyone have of learning this software?!

future reference: i have screwed myself too many times by not subclipping my sequence before collapsing… always try and keep an original sequence for such occasions.
