I recently demoed a US3D. It worked just like an internal HD Extreme 3D, but I had a couple of questions.

    1. Is the fan supposed to be that loud? It almost sounds like a blow dryer.
    2. Should it get so hot that it’s uncomfortable to touch?

I agree it’s quite hot to touch and noisy.

I’ve had the 3D running for almost a week now to see if the heat will kill it.

On the hottest day in the UK for a while it seems fine but you wonder how all those solder joints will perform if it’s turned off and on again a few hundred times. Remember the XBOX 360??

I reckon it could do with a CPU style heatsink with another fan to be sure.

Just wanted to see if you guys have experienced any issues related to the heat? I have picked up a us3d recently and noticed that it does get quite hot. Thinking of running it in an environment where it will be on 7-8h a day…
