So I’m building an Ultrascope box and I can’t quite decide wether to go down the XP road or the Vista highway.

I’m thinking XP in some ways might be better as its pretty lean and runs damn fast on modern machines, but it’s also 8 years old!
Should I really be focussing on a Vista system that is more modern and more aimed at current gear eg multi core processors, PCI Express etc.
Despite Vista’s “girth” would it perhaps have better drivers/support for graphics cards, cpus etc?

    Does it really even matter?

If not in hurry i would wait for W7 support. Goes faster than Vista and no problems for 8 years etc.
    XP feels solid still.

Ultra Scope works with Windows 7. (we have W7 Ultimate 64-bit)
