    Sometimes procrastination pays.

I delayed buying an Ultrascope long enough to now have the choice of running a desktop vs. laptop (granted I may have to wait a little for the USB3 laptops to come down in price.

Has anyone else made the choice? I wouldn’t mind having a new laptop PC I could use on set or when editing open up just when I need critical scopes.

Alternately, I imagine a macbook pro with bootcamp and USB3 card could work.

Also I’d love to know if they both could support a future logging/alarm function.

REPLY – there is no USB3 for any MAC – period. If you want the portable Ultrascope, you are buying a PC (no MAC with bootcamp) end of story.

Anyway, if you are serious about this, you will buy a regular Ultrascope for now, with a basic PC that meets the specs (like a HP Z400).
