    Hi,
Wondering if PP 5 Ultra Keyer works for anyone? Working on Lion 10.7.2 with dual 30″ Dell’s. Heard that if your using dual monitors they must be same height and resolution, which mine are. Seems some posts I’ve read say the eyedropper is broke in some of PP 5 effects. True??? I have a job with lots of green screen material coming up soon. Wondering if the only fix would be upgrading to PP 5.5?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,

The latest PPro update fixed the eyedropper issue. Make sure you have 5.5.2

I am not running 5, so someone else will have to answer that. It was broken in 5.5 on a mac with two displays of differing resolution, but the 5.5.2 update fixed the problem and now it works great.

I have been using Ultra Keyer since the old days before Adobe purchased it’s creator company, Serious Magic, back then it was simply ‘Ultra’. The version integrated with Premiere lacks some of the original functionality that the original had, but I’ve been told that they are going to reintroduce it in the future if possible.

That being said, I still love it. It’s our ‘go to’ keyer these days unless we happen to really blow it when shooting the material and need to be able to create a ‘super-tight junk matte’ as explained here in a tutorial. Even then, we’ve had some green screen shots that we had a hell of a time getting keyed well in Keylight, while Ultra Key was able to handle it with ease. It has also proved to be a real time saver being able to key directly in Premiere.
