Ultra Key or Export Issue?

To be honest, I consider Ultra Key in the timeline a convenience. . .

But if I really want sweet green screen keys, I still go to After Effects and Keylight. Every time. I invariably get better results.

Do you see any of that when you look at the matte? I wondering if the key is still off some. What codec and bit rate is your original footage? That’s more important than what you are rendering to. H264 can be more difficult to key than ProRes.

I agree with Jon, I do all my keying in AE with Keylight. Much more control and you have good matte choker options in AE.
Ultra is good if that’s all you have. But I’ve always had less than great keys with it when I have used it.

Actually I don’t. It’s fully black, and I’ve masked out unnecessary corners and sides. The codec I’m pretty sure is H264, so that might be an issue. I’ll consider using After Effects in the future!
