  • Ultimate S -> Assign Keyboard commands -> “Available Commands” Window too small !

Posted by Tobias Hame on February 18, 2006 at 10:21 am

I hope this doesn’t sound too stupid, but I tried to assign a Keyboard Command to a Ultimate-S script, but since the Window “Available Commands” is quite small, and NOT resizable, I can not destinguish the different Scripts to assign the command. (The script names unfortunately are quite long. same problem with excalibur scripts. manual does not help.)

    How to solve this ?

And my 2nd Question: By which Ultimate-S-Script can I select all events from current cursor position until the end of the timeline. I found this in Excalibur under SelectEvents. But in UltimateS ???

    thanks in advance,

I discovered this same problem in previous versions of Excalibur. It was difficult to know which name you were picking because the important part of the name was cut off by that dialog. That’s why my current names are MUCH shorter so you can easily pick out the proper one.

I know Ultimate S has a “tracks above” and “tracks below” meaning, I guess, that you would have to choose BOTH options AND make sure you have a track selected. Then you also have to make sure you select ALL other items appropriately on that same tab.

Do you use “select all items after cursor” a lot? (I know *I* do). Here’s how I do it: First I ran Excalibur and set up the defaults the way I wanted them. Then I added the “Select Events” tool to the toolbar. Now I simply place the cursor at the proper location, click that one button, and then move the events that were selected as needed. No GUI to worry about!

As i wrote, I also found this function in Excalibur and customized it to the toolbar. Since i only used the trial version of exc. , and i already bought ultimat-s, i was searching how it works there.

Now I found out -> You have to go in the preferences of “Editing Tools”, then under “Event Selection” you have to check all 5 checkboxes. (all except for “left”)
Then I assigned “Editing Tools” to the Toolbar, and thats it! Same Result than in Excalibur.
