JohnR (or anyone else). Is Ultimate S still a tool that works just fine on the latest 10.x versions? It seems like a nice bunch of functions. Just want to make sure Sony has incorporated some of this stuff into the product in the latest versions.

Yes, Ultimate S Pro 4.1 is fully compatible with Vegas Pro 10.x 32-bit and 64-bit.

I’m not aware of anything Sony has done that takes the place of Ultimate S functions except maybe the multi-camera mode but lots of people prefer the multi-cam built into Ultimate S Pro instead.

Just bought it John, and used it on my project today, which is currently uploading to Youtube. I used the “move all events from right of the cursor” Very sweet. Can’t wait to dive into the other features. Thanks for a great product.

John, just a question regarding licensing. I loaded Ultimate S on my main desktop computer yesterday. It seems to be running fine. I have a laptop (new Dell XPS laptop with 6 GBs RAM), that I use on the road, not usually for many things, but occasionally, and last night I was doing a talk on Vegas to the local PC Users group.

While on my local network, I could not get the laptop to properly install U-S, and it seemed to hang up on the license. I had my desktop on at the time. Later, I turned off the desktop, uninstalled the laptop and reinstalled U-S on the laptop, and it seems to now work fine. Is there a network search by the software for duplicate licenses? I don’t see it as a problem, as if there is, I’ll just make sure not to use Vegas at the same time on two machines (I was creating a presentation for the training, while rendering a video for another client on my desktop, not actually using U-S at the same time). I know that some software licensing looks for license numbers on the subnet, and shuts itself down, if you are doing that I’ll just work around the issue. I assume that as long as I’m not using the product on two machines at once (having two people using the same license on two different machines for example) that I’m within my legal rights of use.

Also, my laptop (10.e) starting experiencing Vegas error messages after installing U-S, but only at the point where I closed Vegas. It did not happen while editing using U-S (on either machine). Not sure what to do about it, but wanted to let you know that the act of installing it seemed to start giving me new instability on the one machine. The new machine differs from my desktop in that it runs W7 64 bit SP1 and the other doesn’t (yet). My desktop appears very stable with U-S, so far. FYI only, unless you wish to answer that one. Not sure if you guys have actually ran regression tests on the lastest MS updates to W7 64 SP1.

Nice package though! I love the project setup feature, as all my projects get setup with a specific folder structure, and my logos, etc.

[Al Bergstein] “Is there a network search by the software for duplicate licenses? “

No not at all. It must gave been a ghost in the machine. 😉 You are entitled to have it installed on a desktop and a laptop as long as you don’t use both simultaneously (just like the Sony license) but we don’t do network checks.

[Al Bergstein] “Also, my laptop (10.e) starting experiencing Vegas error messages after installing U-S, but only at the point where I closed Vegas.”

What error messages? I haven’t heard of any issues in that regard. Try closing US Pro first and then close Vegas and see if that works error free. Also feel free to contact us at vasst.com with our ultimatesupport email and we can help you debug this via email.

Thanks. It must have been a bad install. I’ll see if I can get some reproduceable errors and if so, will forward them directly to VASST.
