ugh! powerbook won’t boot up!
i’m trying to boot up my powerbook G4 but all i get is the apple logo in the middle of the screen w/ black around it. is there a way i can get this to boot up fully by pressing certain keys? i got my fcp project file on my osx hard drive and my project files seperate on a firewire drive. thanks for any immediate assistance!

60gig hd

You can try booting in safe mode by holding down the shift key. See Apple Knowledge base article for more info.

If this doen’t work and you have access to another Mac with a firewire port, you can connect the laptop to it via firewire and restart the laptop while holding the T key. This will essentially make it a firewire drive. You can then retreive needed files.
