Type 1 or Type 2 DV
Capturing VHS tapes (using WinDV) I have option to capture as DV type 1 or Type 2 … as far as I can figure out Vegas uses either with no difference.
I know the difference between the Types, is either format better or considered better for capture for later edit in Vegas ?

You want to capture as Type 2 AVI. As far as I know, Vegas cannot use Type 1 since it’s not compatible with Video for Windows (VFW) which Vegas is based on.
