two project windows in After Effects?
Posted by Andrey Sibiryakov on September 14, 2012 at 5:13 pmHello.
I’ve stacked with a heavy branched project.
Two project windows in After Effects would be so handy in my case.
Is there some way to manage it?Andrey

September 14, 2012 at 5:35 pmYou can create multi-folders and import multiple projects into a single project, but there isn’t a way to have multiple project windows in AE.

September 14, 2012 at 5:51 pmIf you mean two preview and timeline windows at the same time, you can if you have all projects imported in a master project. Open one comp, lock the preview window and double click on the second comp to open a separate preview window. You can then drag and position the preview window and the timeline panel for the second comp to a second monitor or position them (one by one) side by side or top -bottom with the initial comp.

I’m working on 15 infographic videos, all in one project. Would be mighty useful if I could have multiple project windows – just like in Premiere.

I used some AEscripts script, that helped to import and update already built folder branch of footage on pc. That eased some things a little bit.
