two HDV export problems
I’m a longtime Avid user now editing my first native HDV project in PP3. Editing has not been a problem, but I’m having a multitude of problems with export. I’ve done some searching in the forums for answers but come up short. For now, I’ll limit my post to the two biggest issues:
1. When exporting as a quicktime or exporting to encore as letterboxed 4:3 SD, the letterboxing goes screwy on any shot I used the motion effect on. Whenever I did any resizing or rotation, the letterboxing shifts in correspondence to those effects. This is particularly problematic when I’ve used large JPEGs in a still sequence, which obviously required extensive resizing.
2. When trying to export QT or back to tape, my audio is severely distorted. I’m not overmodulating in the timeline. In fact, I have a limiter set at -10 in my master track. Also, the audio sounds fine in MPEG2 exports.
So far, the only way I’ve been able to get a project out is to export the MGEG2 widescreen to Nero and burn a 4:3 DVD from there (and even then I’m getting a little bit of contrast loss).
Any help, especially in the form of specific export settings you’ve used successfully in the past, would be greatly appreciated. System specs below. Thanks,
Stu
