    Hello all,

I’m switching over from FCP and AVID but there are two major annoyances in Premiere that I was hoping some one knew a fast work around for.

The first is when making a four point edit. If the in and out points marked in the source do not match the in and out points in the sequence there is an annoying warning that pops us asking me if I want to change clip speed, ignore source in point, ignore source out point, ignore sequence in point or ignore sequence out point. This gets very redundant and SLOWS me down considerably. Is there a way to set a preference or a preset so it always behaves the same. Like AVID’s sequence points always take precedent over the source points.

The second is stereo track. Is there a way to make both L and R stereo tracks a mono track upon import.

    Thanks for your time.

Hollywood quality isn’t always found in Hollywood.

Under Preferences > Audio, you can set Source Channel Mapping to default to mono, stereo, mono as stereo, or 5.1. Personally I have my default set to mono, then convert clips I need in stereo within the project panel, since the bulk of my material is generally dialogue or 2-channel camera audio, with a handful music and atmosphere tracks that I want in stereo.

Not really a fan of four point edits, since I find I can work faster doing three point edits then trimming as necessary in the timeline. So I can’t help you out there, I’m afraid.
