Editor has used Twixtor on every clip in project. I send project to Resolve, no R3Ds match up, I’m guessing do to the footage being heavily time manipulated with a filter that does no translate to Resolve or FCP.

Would the best way around this be to grade the raw R3Ds (like dailies?) and then have them relink to that in the edit?

Best way is to make a new timeline with only those shots, grade them and then send em back for him to reapply Twixtor.
Or export em using commercial workflow.

Request nr 35435348 for OFX plugins in Resolve 🙂

    Really Twixtor’d every shot?

Yes, for the project workflow you describe, I would agree that the best approach will be to grade the footage upstream of twixtor. The challenge will be ensuring that there is sufficient handles for any clips that are sped up. It might even be a useful approach to have Resolve render the entire source clips, to guarantee that twixtor won’t run out of footage.

Kind of counts like a variable speed change, which of course up to this point is forbidden, anyway.

I’d ask for the twixtored project to be rendered as dpx’s and grade the actual edit.
