  • Twixtor on Sony Vegas Pro – interpolation between multiple still images

Posted by Walt Borders on March 4, 2015 at 8:59 pm

    Hi,

I’ve been loading a set of multiple still images into Vegas Pro 13 and then trying to use Twixtor to create a new still image between each source image. The stills are from multiple cameras all pointing at the same scene. Think of a stereo camera but with 10 lens.

My goal is to use still images to create in-between images that will be used to make auto-stereoscopic 3D lenticular prints.

With Twixtor I’ve been getting plenty(!) of output JPGs, but none that have created an actual interpolated new image. Can I keep working with still images or do I need to create a 10 frame movie and work from that?

Your direction and concepts are much appreciated! Thanks!

You do indeed need to make a 10 frame movie and work from that. (even if that’s to tell Vegas to load the 10 frames AS A MOVIE).

A good way to do this in Vegas and to sequence your still frames on the timeline
Then save that as a .veg file (project)
And then load the .veg file as if you were loading a movie, within a new project
And from there, follow Twixtor as usual instructions
