    Hi
    I followed this tutorial https://library.creativecow.net/articles/solorio_marco/twixtor_review.php
on making slow motion footage from a 60i clip shot with a shutter speed of 1/250.

I Deinterlaced it using FieldsKit deinterlacer and then applied twixtor just like the tutorial said.

One thing I noticed is that I cannot set the output framerate only the input which I set to 59.94.

I set the speed to 50% in order to slow it down but the footage is jerky.

What can I do to fix this
    Thanks

i don’t have twixtor or fieldskit, but i can tell you how i could do it without the plugins…

    1. set ae to deinterlace the footage (select the footage in the project window, then choose file>interpret footage>main, the choose the separate fields with the proper order, normally check the preserve edges option).

    2. drag the footage to the new comp icon.

    3. with footage selected in the comp, choose layer>time>time stretch. set to 200%.

    4. double the comp duration.

you should get nice smooth slow motion taht renders very quickly.

now to try to get the benefit of fieldskit’s better deinterlacing features, you may be able to do jsut about the same process. make sure ae is set to not deinterlace the footage. drag footage to the make comp icon and add fields kit. then try time stretch, 200%. this may work if fieldskit will ‘see’ the second field data.

if it doesn’t work, undo the time stretch, set the comp to double the frame rate of the footage (59.94). then use fieldskit to deinterlace. if that now produces unique deintertlaced frames as you advance through the comp, then drag that comp into a new 29.97 comp and use time stretch to stretch it 200%.
