  Twisting text animation

  Hello, everyone

  I’m trying to replicate the effect used in the text in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flpxxQDhQKQ

  It was made using old analog equipment, more specifically a Scanimate machine, but I can’t think of a way to recreate it in After Effects. I tried using CC Ball Action, CC Twister and CC Cylinder and couldn’t get good results. Form is the one that gave me the closest result but it’s still not what I want.

  I could do it in a 3D application but I imagine AE could do this as it doesn’t look like to be a complex effect.
