  • TV flicker on DVD after aparently doing everything right

    Good day.

I recently finished a dvd project. I wanted it PAL widescreen, this is what I did:

-started sony vegas project with the settings: DVD/PAL 16:9 with Vídeo: 720×576, 25,000 fps interlaced.

-rendered the project with the MPEG 2 DVD ARCHITECT WIDESCREEN STREAM PAL (plus ac3 for sound)

-opened DVD architect project, with template MPEG 2 DVD PAL WIDESCREEN (16:9) 720×576:50i

when I went to burn it, as I expected it did not tell me to reencode anything.

Thing is, when I watched it I still get constant flickering throughout the whole video.

Any ideas on to why this happens? ive burned projects before and followed the steps AFAIK correctly and flickering has been minimal.

    Thank you very much.

Whats the field order of your source and is it matched in the encode?

How do I see the field order of the source?

I checked and apparently the video was rendered with the lower field first. Should it be upper field first or progressive scan?

    Thank you.

Try upper and see if that works

PAL is always upper field first.
