TV Encoding
I’m not having much luck in other sections, so I thought I’d try here.
Regarding a “Video Encoding” position at a major network, can anyone describe what might be involved?
Is there certain software that is used at major network TV level?
Would it likely be a wide variety of formats, encoding highlights for the web, etc.?
Any info into this world would be very appreciated.

Sure – here is the PBS Red book with all the specifications that they’d like.
Other broadcasters will have similar (but less stringent) delivery requirements.
