    in his blog https://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2007/0 … -settings/
andrew suggests to use the quicktime render option.

i need to publish a short teaser for an office event but the samsung TV that would be playing the clip file does not support quicktime (.mov) format.

the supported codecs are .mp4 , .mkv, .avi, .wmv9

from these list, im not sure which format displays the same good quality as Quicktime – animation render option.

this site shows the complete supported codecs of the TV

    would greatly appreciate your replies

The extensions are containers, not codecs.
H.264, for example, can be .mov, .mp4, .f4v just to name a few.
wmv 9 is a codec within wmv which can contain other wmv variants such as wmv 8, wmv 7, etc.

Unfortunately your links are bad. Please fix if you want to share.

[hoff man] ” the supported codecs are .mp4 , .mkv, .avi, .wmv9″

As Craig pointed out – those are architectures (buckets_ not codecs.

Both of your links were truncated – I can’t look up what the TV can do.

Likely it’ll do h.264 MP4 files. What are you using as a compression tool? If you’re using compressor 4, you can make this sort of file.

Handbrake can probably do this for you as well (for free) – use the Apple TV setting.

Hope that helps (until you get us the other information!)
