Tutorials You’d Recommend
I hope this is the correct forum to post this. I was thinking either here or AE Basics.

I am a new videographer. I graduated in 2009 and finally landed a video job about two months ago. I never learned After Effects in school and was told at my internship if I have any hope of becoming an editor, I need to know AE. I took the initiative and watched tutorials online. I understand keyframes and basic animation (i.e. text fly in from the left, etc). However, I know there is so much more for me to learn. I’ve found several “Top 50 AE Tutorials You Should Know” lists, etc. However, I think those lists are a little overwhelming right now, not necessarily skill set but more of time to learn it all bc it will be outside of work. So if someone approached you and asked you to pick out the tutorials every editor should know, which ones would you pick? Which effects do you find yourself using/doing the most? Right now, I’m going through Video Copilot’s AE Basic Training bc I jumped around when learning due to time and trying to pick up on what I skipped. I consider myself one step above learning the basics.
Also, when I say effects, I mean more of what AE can do, not necessarily fancy graphics and flying stuff. For example, I’m learning about stabilizing a shot, which I think is a must for editors. But if there’s a fancy effect at the top of your list (i.e. shatter, graffiti, etc), I’m open to that too.
One last thing – is there a place with completed videos (not tutorials) that I can watch and maybe get inspiration from? Not copy but more of a “hey I didn’t know you could do that” or “hmmm what if I use that concept but change this and that.”
