  • Tutorial on how to Animate Camera for 2D Animation

Posted by Bob Tanner on May 27, 2013 at 6:13 pm

I’m working on a video that involves animation and I animated my characters and scene in 2d, and now I’m trying to figure out the camera, but when I animate the camera it doesn’t come out smooth like I’ve seen in 2D animated videos. Does anyone have a tutorial or tip to help me?

    Thanks,
    Zevie

Here’s a tutorial on 3D camera animation. My guess is that you are using Linear keyframes, in which case your entry and exit points are making your moves look jerky. It’s a simple matter of creating Bezier keyframes, or possibly Hold keyframes:

At about 9 and a half minutes in you’ll find your answers. It’s a good tutorial, well presented.
