I sent an inquiry to Dale who has this working, about colorspace issues..
    Here is the email..

I was following your thread on virtualdub.org.
I had a few questions as there were some issues.
    1. The build is a fork of virtualdub, and is only in the virtualdub-hdyc that squid_80 put out. Is that correct ?
    2. The version in the thread is the non Multithreaded huffy build. Is that right too ?
    3. Also, there were issues with the HDYC colorspace outputted by Huffy. The gent here did tests on a vectorscope and found some interesting things..Are you sure this is not occurring in the HDYC build you are using ??

And the forum thread where this occurs..

    https://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act=ST&f=6&t=18348

I do not have access to a vectorscope and my concern would be, that we are having small issues with colorspace using virtualdub and huffy that do not show up until the generated files are carefully observed..

    Hello Anmol.

I just responded to your post on the VirtulDub forums here:
    https://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act=ST&f=6&t=16116&st=32

In summary, I do not notice any colorspace issues with my capture using the BlackMagic Intensity, VirtualDub and the Huffyuv compression. Details are in the link I posted above.

    Good luck,
    Dale

We did a test posted at vimeo
    https://vimeo.com/10174263
We played out a SMPTE color bar from a 5d Mark II. It was ingested with a BM Intensity card using Virtualdub. There were 2 files, a special Huffyuv build for HDYC and the default BM MJPEG. As you scroll through the video it can be seen that the colorspace changes when Huffyuv records. This is a confirmation of the problem first noticed at
    etfinder.net/capturepics/

On further tests I decided to include the AMV2-MT codec from here..
    https://amamaman.hp.infoseek.co.jp/english/amv2_e.html

Its a lossless 8-bit 4:2:2 codec similar to Huffy.
    It costs 10 bucks though.

I found it to be the best lossless capture option. It gives 2-4 times compression in realtime. It seems to be a variant of the AMV codec, which is a variant of MJPEG.

I will post a video that shows the colorspace issues with BM MJPEG, Huffy and AMV2-mt.
AMV2-mt is a faithful reproduction of the SMPTE color bars..
