You know how you sometimes get into learning something and by the time you get deep into it you realize there are some fundamental facts you passed up along the way? That’s the case for me in high def. I really have never fully grasped some of the “unusual” HD timecodes and why they exist, and when they can be problematic. Heck, I’m not even sure why there is a 1080 and a 720, or how different those two animals are. So, my question is: Can anyone here refer me to some tutorials that will catch me up on some HD fundamentals that I haven’t yet understood? (The problem in this business is that you start out wanting to produce and edit but these days you also have to be a computer engineer.)

    Thanks.
