Am I missing something here- I have 8 layers of video- a car commercial, flying logos, titles, disclaimers, etc. If I turn off the top layer, I have to re-render the sequence- the whole thing, even if I only turn off the top layer that has a title at the end?

    “avid editor scratching his head.

    Nope that is normal.

    Hey Steve
You can use the Clip Enable / Clip Disable toggle rather than turning off the entire layer. Just select teh item(s) that you want to disable and press Ctrl B (or choose Modify menu > Clip Enable)
