Turning off Close Caption Peak building
I am trying to pull little clips out of multiple 1 hour or more videos. Now it would appear Vegas want to “build peaks” for Close Captions, there are none in any of these videos. How can I stop Vegas from looking for them? It is a HUGE time waster and frankly makes me look back in front of clients when we have to wait for this as well as video and audio peaks to be built. Thanks for any input!

Go to Options -> Preferences. While selecting this menu item hold down SHIFT and a previously hidden tab will exist named Internal. There is a parameter called “Enable scanning for closed captions” that defaults to TRUE. Type in FALSE in the value field and make sure you hit Apply.
