turning a 4:3 DVD menu into 16:9 (resizing the background tif)
Using DVDSP, I’m trying to do the fairly straightforward task of turning the wedding band DVD menu into 16:9. Of course, I now have an oblong ring. So, I brought the TIF into Photoshop, duplicated the layer, moved the top one over, cropped it to enlarge to proper size, flattened it, and smudged the line between layers. All great until I bring it back into DVDSP and the ring is now pixellated.
So I tried creating a new DV Anamorphic document in photoshop and pasting my photo. It’s pixellated there as well. The confusing thing to me is that the image size is exactly the same. I’m guessing this is my old friend square-non square pixels again, but not sure how to proceed.

Have you looked at the tutorial describing how to control non-square pixels in this tutorial:

Thanks for the suggestion. My issue is not that the round ring is turning oval, but that the image is getting pixellated, the smooth round ring is now a jagged round ring.
