Turning 486 into 525?
I just got the broadcast tech specs from a station I’ll be delivering an infomercial to and for Standard Definition Video Aspect it says:
Preference 1: 16:9 aspect ratio (full height anamorphic, not letterbox) 525 NTSC
Preference 2: 4:3 aspect ratio (full height, not letterbox) 525 NTSCI shot everything at 720p30 on the HVX and down rezzed it to 720×486 in After Effects (the D1 preset) and plan on bringing the final video back into Final Cut Pro to print to tape. Should I just adjust the preset in After Effects from 720×486 to 720×525 and find ways to make sure there is footage in that extra space or is there a better way to handle this?

This forum is really starting to make me feel old. You are fine at 486.
Standard definition video for North America is defined as having a vertical line rate of 525 with 486 of those being the active picture area.
