  • Turn pages – Timing and texturing how-to

    Hi all,

I know this subject has been covered over time, but I cannot find a way I to make it work well: I want to make an animation of a book with several pages turning…

I managed to make ONE “nice” turning page using a Cloth tag (thanxs to Maxon tutorial and thanxs to all the preceding threads). But my problem comes when I want to make several pages…

I copy the page into several new ones. But when I try to offset the next pages in time, they all start from time 0.

I tried to cache the simulation, and then use the “Start” (x)F and the “Stop” (x)F. I set these values different for each page. Well, it works for a short time, and then, for an unknown reason, when I scrub the timeline, C4D is being mad and some of my cached-pages do not appear at their initial state when I am at time “0”. I surely miss something about cache ????

Another point is about texturing, since all my pages are at the exact position (on beginning and on ending), and thus, when I put texture, the result is random, since C4D does not really know who is behind and who is back… Of course, I tried to make a little offset, but since all the pages share the same “collision” plane, they all fall on it, and then, I got the same problem.

Well, some of you manage to do such a really scene in 2 hours !!! It’s been 7 hours I spent on it…

    Thanxs for your support
