  • Turn on/off at track or project level switches?

Posted by Paul Gregory on August 20, 2006 at 1:11 am

Is there any way to turn on/off at track or project level switches like de interlace flicker, aspect ratio etc? Some of these switches I can’t even see why they exist like the de interlace flicker why would you ever wish to turn it off unless there is some unseen downside to doing so.

Another strange thing is capturing a still from the time line when you have to alter the setting to best full before capturing the still. i can’t imaging that I would ever wish a lower quality capture.

    Thanks in advance

You can use a script to take a snapshot which will set all the best settings, save the image, and then reset the settings back.

You can also use a script to turn on or off the “Reduce Interlace Flicker” flag on multiple events at once. Or you can just select all the events and pick the proper menu option.

I put a few clips on the time line & selected edit then switches then selected deinterlace filter. I went back & found that the first clip had the switch turned on but the second one didn’t. I was under the impression that anything done at track level applied to all clips on a track. Am I wrong or did I go to wrong place to turn on switch?

    Thanks in advance

Select all the events you want to change. It will affect SELECTED events – the track has nothing to do with anything.
