Turn off audio playback during HDV capture
Recently whenever I capture hdv footage off of our Z1U the audio plays back on the mac pro through final cut pro while capturing, before a week or 2 ago it would never do that. I’ve checked the preferences and audio/video settings and I can’t find anywhere how to turn it off.
Is this a new feature of 6.03?
I just want to capture in the background without having to listen to the audio on the tapes. -

In your Log and Capture window, just turn Off the audio preview. I’m assuming it will fix that. I don’t use HDV capture, but that’s what you do on all the other format.s

there is no preview check box for audio when in the HDV log & capture window/clip settings tab

Hopefully this is something that will be fixed in the next version or an update but for now i am using Audio Hijack..

Get this running then launch fcp and you can mute any sound that comes out of it.

You can currently mute the output from Final Cut Pro with the demo version of Audio Hijack Pro. It’s only the recording feature that’s limited.
