I need to make some text NOT antialiased, so the edges are jagged, but I can’t find an option to turn off antialiasing on a single text object.

Then the NEXT question is that I’ve need the same thing with a stroke layer style around it, so the text isn’t antialiased into the stroke, but the stroke is antialiased into the background.

If you’re wondering why… I have a client with some strange methods of transparency. He doesn’t want alpha channels, only pure white is transparent. So with the antialiasing on, I get white jaggies around the transparent areas.

This is driving me nuts, I’ve been trying to figure out a solution for the last 4 hours.

Even when I create FLATTENED text in photoshop or paint shop pro that has no antialiased edges, AE still smooths the edges.

There MUST be something I’m missing!

No one seems to know what’s going on with this. there are several threads on the adobe.com site for AE support. conflicting and mutually exclusive advice and arguments.
