Multiclip sources (16) are all on the same firewire drive.

Is there any way of rendering the 16-way multiviewer to a file so that it is playable?

Any software solutions to create a multiviewer from multiple clips? (without having to manually line them up and apply a transform)

    thanks

no need for motion, you can build the 16 track 4×4 grid in FCP, and export.

but no you cant export your multiclip view direct from FCP,
unless you use some sort of screen grab software

    oh, right,
i missed where the OP didn’t want to build the 16xSplit in FCP.
well, they’d all be about the same amount of work, i suspect.

another way might be to just monitor 9 angles at a time.
or two multiclips with 8 angles each.

    Unfortunately even a 9 way wouldn’t play from a single fw800 drive.

It wouldn’t be too tricky for them to add the export feature.. Where is the fcp7 feature request list?

    🙂
