So i know you cannot turn SD footage into HD footage automagically as Dr. Tuneup (Biz Markie) would put it, but the footage was originally recorded on a 5D and coded through compressor into DV NTSC. I know I should have initially coded it into ProRes, but at the time I couldnt afford the extra space on my harddrive. So I know pretty basic things about final cut (a photographer in a moving world) but is there a way to time stamp the clips so all I would need to do is code the correct footage into ProRes and then walla its there. I have FCP 7.

You use Media Manager to re-import the high rez footage matching what you’ve edited, and if everything works as it si supposed to, you should end up with the same edit in HD.
