This is realted to”No Image” viewing clips.

I have a G5 running the latest FCP and I’m having no problems importing ex1 files.

However, I am attempting to see if I use those imported ex1 files on final cut 5.1.4 running on a G4 powerbook.

I can import the files without an error message and hear the audio perfectly. Still, there’s no image.

Has anyone figured out a way to make this work?

Even in Theory I know this would be slow and unadvised, but I’d like to think that I don’t have to purchase a new laptop.

    Thanks.

EX clips only work on the latest FCP, no way around it I’m afraid.

Have you tried “Search Posts”? Enlightenment may be there.

FCP 6.0.2 specifically. That version includes the EX codec.

BTW there’s no obvious EX1 codec to be copied to other systems either.

You wouldn’t have to purchase a new laptop, just install the latest version of FCP onto the Powerbook.
