    well im trying to use a mask i have drawn as path,… i did my best and tried as the help file says… copied mask to clip board and pasted in the desired layer’s position property.. but nothin seems to be happening..

    tried pasting more than once.. but same result..
    any idea where i m going wrong..
    all i wanna do is.. make my object or camera ( layer ) follow a path..and the path is a mask i hv myself drawn in AE.

    If I understand well your question, make sure your mask property is set to “Add” or “Substract” depending on how you want the final result to look like.

    Make sure you have the work “mask” selected when you copy and the word “position” selected when you paste and you should be good.

    Actually you need to be sure and twirl down the Mask to expose, then select Mask Shape, copy that, Mask Shape, then paste that into Position. Otherwise you get nothing. It will come in as keyframes (roving in the middle) 2 second long. That messed me up a lot too.
