trying to use a canopus ADVC110 to capture video from mini dv
I am trying to log and capture video using Final Cut pro.
I am going form a sony mini dv through a canopus ADVC110 into an imac. (i am coming out of the canopus 6 pin plug and into my imac firewire 800) I can only capture one clip at a time. after i capture the clip the canopus device makes me toggle from analog to digital and back again before i can capture another clip. Otherwise it will only capture 16 frames and stops itself. saying capture now has reached end of tape….Any ideas? -

Connect the DV camera directly to FCP via firewire. You don’t need anything else but straight firewire to capture DV.
