I have a project rendered in Sony Vegas Pro 8 that I want to Burn in DVDA. This is an .avi file for Windows Media. The size of the file is 1.5 GB.

Using DVDA I use the following steps:

    1. Make DVD
    2. Burn source: I direct it to a folder in my D Drive (which is practically unused and has 87.6 Gig of free space)
    3. The result:

DVDA will not burn the project and has the following message:
“There is not enough free space in the temporary files folder for preparing the DVD”

I can only conclude one thing. DVDA even though being directed to D drive which has lots of space is still trying to access C drive and use its temp folders. This is my drive where my main programs run etc (like most computers straight from the factory) and which has only 1.07 Gigs out of 15 Gigs possible.

Now to be more specific: How can I tell DVDA to complete its mission giving this issue? My other Burning program Sony Vaio’s CLICK TO DVD can perform this effortlessly as long as I instruct it to route the burning to D drive.

Without a solution I am in for purchasing a new computer system! I dont have the resources for such a drastic solution.

    Thanks for your help!

    Cheers!

In DVDA, are the two folder paths in Options > Prefs > Burning Set to Drive D?

    Mike:

That is precisely what my problem was. In being new to the software I had not checked the options section to locate the destination drives that DVDA was to burn to. Once I instructed DVDA to use my large D Drive then the whole project burned without an issue.

Thanks so much for your support and help here. I am sure at times it may seem like advise is unappreciated but certainly not in my case!

    Cheers!

Don, I’m glad to have been of help.
Remember that there are similar folder paths in Vegas as well that should be set accordingly.
