  • Trying to speed up HDV PAL b-roll to 30FPS

I’ve looked high and low on this, with no luck.

I’ve got an HDV editing job that was mostly shot at 29.97FPS, but two tapes are from a camera that was shooting at HDV PAL 25FPS. It’s B-Roll of a ship, so speeding it up would be ideal.

I don’t want to do anything that mucks with the fields. I just want to speed up the PAL so I’m getting about an extra 5 frames a second. Speeding it up to 119.88% did not do it – it created new frames, fields, and interpolations.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked into Compressor or Nattress filters?

    Hi

I had to do the same standard convert, just different formats
ie i had a 29.97 dv50 show and had to integrate 25 DV.

I think i just batch conformed everything from 25 to 29.97 in cinema tools, then slowed the stuff down where i needed it, which was only a few places, as the subject matter got better when sped up!

    hope this helps

Conform in Cinema Tools, like what Bob said. That’s the way to do it.
