I have a wedding that I am preparing a DVD for. I have about 88 minutes of video in the project. When I try to prepare/render/burn the project it tells me the project size is to big for the media. I show 5.1 GB in the bottom right of the work space. I am rendering as MPEG2 – DVD NTSC – Video render quality is Best. I jumped from Vegas 4 to Vegas 7. I used to be able to get 2 hours on a DVD no problem. Is there something in the render settings that would help the file sizes and not reduce the quality too much?

DVD Architect is famous (or is that infamous??) for incorrectly reporting file sizes.
Check the actual file sizes of the MPEG-2 & AC-3 streams that you rendered and, if they’re under the 4.3 GB limit, ignore the warning and render.
BTW, my bitrate calculator gives a CBR of 6300 or a VBR of 7800/6300/3700.
If your numbers are close to that, once again, ignore the warning.
