Trying to recreate an effect (Something similar to smoke text)
Hello, I’m trying to recreate this effect https://youtu.be/u81WzbhqdaU
To do that I’ve tried converting a rectangular shape layer to an adjustement layer, applying here the effects “Turbulent Displace”, “Fast Blur” and “Wave Warp”, and moving this layer to make it them stop effecting the text below, but I’ve 2 problems, the effects it’s not the same, it’s kind of similar but not close enough and I the second one is that I don’t know how to make the transition between the part with the effect and the one without seamless (Sorry for my english, I’ve attached an image to try to explain what I mean)

What I suspect they have done is use an animated soft fractal noise and used that noise to drive both displacement and lens blur effects. Then applied a levels adjustment on the fractal noise to bring it from full white to full black (with the fractal in shades of gray in between those extremes).

Project files are way out of date, but if you follow the steps you will get basically the result you are looking for.
