September 1, 2009 at 1:49 pmWhat version of XML is this in? Sounds like it’s too new for the version of FCP you’re using. I think for v5 you need on more than XML 2 or 3. What did this come from?
All the best,

September 1, 2009 at 2:21 pmXML footage is not natively supported in FCP. Importing the XML files will not work in FCP. Is this P2 footage? If yes, you can import the footage if you have installed the proper driver.
What you can do is import and export your Final Cut Project File as XML. This is what you are trying to do with your footage. As you can see, it does not work that way.

September 1, 2009 at 2:51 pmYou need to find out what camera created the MXF files. It is possible that you will need a newer version of FCP in order to work with the footage.
MXF files are not natively supported in FCP either. With third party plug-ins, you can work with the MXF files.
