    Hi there,

Im trying to import ARRIRAW files into Resolve Lite.

I got the ARRIRAW files from the Black Magic Design website as they are offering the new Gemini recorder with ARRIRAW capabilities.

The files are a bunch of .ari files with a single XML.

I get an error saying “invalid fcp xml file” when trying to import the XML. I tried loading the .ari files individually but Resolve doesnt seem to react.

Ive re-installed Resolve several times with different versions – 8.1, 8.2, 8.2.1 beta – but still no luck.

Should I enable any configuration functions for this to work? Any pointers?

your help is very much appreciated,

    Rob

Hi Rob, please tell us what is your system config?
Does the Gemini recorder generate an XML in FCP 7 XML v5 or FCPX XML format?
Please provide details of the files you have tested. Were the Arri from from the BMD support page one of the Quicktimes or do you have .ari from somewhere else? Please specify.

    Hey Peter,

my error – I actually got the footage from the Convergent Design website, not the BMD!
    here’s the link:
    https://www.convergent-design.com/Products/Gemini444/Gemini444VideoSamples.aspx

Im unsure what XML format the Gemini recorder generates…

My system config – Mac OSX 10.6.8, 2.4 Intel i5 Core, 8 gigs RAM
My current version of Resolve is 8.2

    thanks for your help!
    regards
    Rob

This is probably a silly question, but I just thought it might be good to make sure all the base are covered.

You’ve tried adding the clips into your media pool From within the browser tab correct?
