  • Trying to find where two Nulls are actually animated

I have an AE 16.1 from the Mac OS file that I’ve opened and converted on Windows to the latest version. Wouldn’t think there would be an issue.

However, I have a simple comp with three layers: color control with a solid, a nested comp that is just type and then one live type layer.

Both the nested comp and live type are parented to a null for animation. I see the red outlines of the Nulls in the comp but I cannot select them. I can’t find them in the layers at all.

In the project window, there is a folder with a ton of Nulls. So I can double-click the Null in this folder that is being parented to and it opens in the footage window, but I can’t actually see or find the keyframes or anything that is actually animating the Null.

So I am trying to find where the controls for the Nulls are.

Have you double checked that the shy toggle is off?

I just clicked the little shy guy and now all the layers are hidden and it’s not letting me bring them back? Right-Clicked, looked under View, reset the Window layout etc…

ahh…. ok, I see now.. with the latest version, I wasn’t used to the one icon controlling all the shyness! It’s been a while!

Thanks for the tip, I found them!
